help with freshmen electrical engineering project (microcontroller)?
So I'm doing a project due at the end of the semester and I have an idea but I wanted to get some input on how feasible this would be given my limited skill set (I'm only in an introductory EE/circuits course and a C++ course.)
I want to make a circuit with 4 photo diodes each blocked off from a different direction. I want to write a program to read these inputs and determine which direction a light source is, and what the optimal position for a solar cell is to achieve max potential, and then move the solar cell with a couple of small motors.
Is this something a novice could figure out how to do with a PIC microcontroller? any feedback or pointers in the right direction would be appreciated.
if you have basic knowledge of circuits and programming you could possibly do that. There are 3 things you must learn:
1.How to get logic 1 and 0 from photo sensor(there are diagrams on web)
2.How to program a pic (it is not hard if you have some programming background)
3.How to drive drive a dc motor with a pic
